This material has increased hydrophilic and barrier properties with respect to the penetration of microorganisms, fungi, which allows it to be used as a filter layer in surgical masks, respirators. Meltblown is successfully used in filters of vacuum cleaners, respirators, industrial masks, filters for filtering liquids and even gases.
Like many non-woven materials (spunbond, spunlace, SMS), meltblown is used for the manufacture of disposable medical clothing.
Hygiene also widely uses meltblown in the manufacture of feminine sanitary napkins and baby diapers.
